What does heaven look like? The Apostle John was given a vision of a "vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language" (Revelation 7:9). Pastor Scott Thomas argues that God's "crib" (the church) should reflect this heavenly blueprint.In this urgent message, learn how disunity, exclusiveness, and racism are signs of the end times , as the Greek word for "nation" in Jesus' prophecy, "nation will go to war against nation" (Matthew 24) , is ethnos, meaning "ethnicity against ethnicity". The church is in direct opposition to hell's game plan to divide us and the spirit of our divisive culture.We, at Free Life Chapel, live out a silent sermon of unity, with a demographic breakdown of 35% Hispanic, 33% Black, 26% White, and 6% Asian/Pacific Islander/Native American, etc. This balance places FLC in the top 1% of churches for healthiest diversity among major U.S. ethnicities. Not better than others, just healthy!The message pivots to how Jesus broke down the "wall of hostility" that separated Jews and Gentiles in the temple (Ephesians 2:14). We must avoid rebuilding that wall through exclusion, arrogance, or dismissing those who "don't look like you, act like you, talk like you". Jesus takes it seriously, warning that offending the "little ones"... the marginalized, rejected, or those considered unimportant... is a dire offense. Diversity in the church extends to those with messy backgrounds, alcohol or weed on their clothes, and emotional challenges.We are called to keep access to Jesus open to everybody.
